What to do with all those decant bottles?

It’s a bit messy sometimes, this hobby of Perfume for some of you who are fortunate to gather little armies of small sample sprayers and decants from fumey buddies who split and decant  all the time…

So, Here’s an idea for all of you to help with not only organization, but also for keeping those decant bottles upright to avoid spillage and leakage…

The first idea is a Test Tube Rack that in this case, organizes tiny and small Perfume materials bottles for organization.

Small bottle storage 2

You can see that I have made two storage racks for two sizes of bottles, and actually from one single rack that I purchased.   You can see where I cut it below.

Then I cut a piece of wood to go under the top piece cut off, and nail right through the plastic rack into the wood to give it a bottom.

These Test Tube racks are readily found on ebay one at a time, so you most often don’t have to buy 6 at a time, like if you went to a Scientific Supply house.

The same concept can be utilized for sprayer bottles, but you may need to find a couple of sizes to accomodate your different diameters of vials.  I see interior dimensions commonly available in these sizes:

16mm, 18mm, 20mm, and 22mm.    There are likely other sizes too, if you poke around.

The second Idea works pretty well for small 1ml sample vials, or even 2-3ml samples too…

Small bottle storageI use it to store vials of perfumes I’m making, especially if I want to test it out on a tiny scale, maybe just an idea or a simple accord…   I use Autosampler vials  as pictured, but I also keep some of these for 1ml vials storage too.

I hope that I’ve helped with an idea…???     PK
