You know, Leather Fragrances are a specialty of mine…<\/p>\n

I’ve got two done, Red Leather, and Zaffran, and Gold Leather is really close to done.<\/p>\n

So Thinking about Leather Fragrances…<\/p>\n

Someone asked about English Leather, as a style of Leather fragrance, similar to Russian Leather , or Peau d”espagna. \u00a0I think that my reply went like this:<\/p>\n

Ok, Well, not because I’m a know-it-all, but I *HAVE* been doing a whole lot of
\nleather research. I haven’t run across anything like an English Leather
\nstyle\/category of Leather fragrances, but for the names of those two frags.<\/p>\n

But there is in fact a style of, or a quality of English leather products. It
\nwould of course be a good selling point for an item to be made with English
\nLeather material. I remember my grandfather who repaired luggage in Los Angeles
\nhad drawers full of replacement leather straps, trunk handles, and briefcase
\nhandles that stated on the drawers, that their origin was English. When I was a
\nboy, I really LOVED to open those drawers and smell the English Leather handles,
\nand feel the smooth finished and stitched handles… Whenever I went to his
\nshop, it was one of my favorite things to do, was smell the English leather
\nhandles drawers.<\/p>\n

I still have many of those handles in my garage, because I just couldn’t bear to
\ntoss all those high quality products when we cleaned up his shops. They smelled
\nso great and were of such high quality…<\/p>\n

\"Grampa<\/a><\/p>\n

I just went out to the garage, and took a picture of the handmade drawers that Grampa made, and the drawers I still keep with those beautiful English leather trunk pulls, along with those beautiful glass doorknobs and phenolic colorful drawer pulls I got from him, waiting for the right funky project to put them on.<\/p>\n

My Other Grandfather also worked with Leather, he was a tool and die maker for a Leathercraft tool make here in Los Angleles. \u00a0And He worked a lot with leather too, as he was the Los Angeles City Schools Crafts Director in the 1950’s.<\/p>\n

So it also made sense for me to learn to work in leather, which I did while I was in 4-H between the ages of 10 and 19. \u00a0I can’t seem to find anything that I made that hasn’t suffered wear and tear from that era, but I’ll find some items and post them if it’s appropriate…<\/p>\n

Nonetheless, Going into the Leather Store is one of my favorite fragrance places in the whole world to go.<\/p>\n

I even got to go to a Tannery in the Highlands of Nicaragua, just under the Honduran border. \u00a0(and had to evade the banditos up there…)<\/p>\n

Needless to say, Leather is a favorite scent… \u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
